Post-Doctoral Position in Applied CFD for Wastewater Disinfection Process Analysis We are pleased to announce a 12-month post-doctoral position for a highly qualified individual with expertise in applied Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), specifically using Ansys Fluent. This position is part of a WRF project entitled "Performic Acid Disinfection in Wastewater Effluent and CSOs in Context of Disinfection By-Products and Future Ambient Water Quality Criteria for Viruses" and involves conducting advanced modeling studies on pilot and full- scale disinfection facilities. The research will integrate chemical decomposition/decay, microbial inactivation kinetics, and reactor hydraulics within both deterministic and stochastic frameworks. Key Responsibilities: • Conducting CFD modeling studies using Ansys Fluent. • Integrating chemical decomposition/decay processes, microbial inactivation kinetics, and reactor hydraulics in models. • Developing and validating models for both pilot and full-scale disinfection facilities. Qualifications: • Expertise in applied CFD, particularly with Ansys Fluent. • Experience with reactive fluids and open channel systems is preferred. • Eligibility to legally work in Canada. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and within a research team.
