Several postdoc positions are available at the Computational Flow Physics and Data Assimilation Group at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research in Goettingen, Germany The topics that we are specifically interested in are: 1. DNS for Magnetoconvection or rotating convection or convection driven-dynamo (see Journal of Fluid Mechanics 984, A45 (2024) or Journal of Fluid Mechanics 976, A4 (2023) for a reference). 2. Machine learning for CFD (specifically turbulence modeling with machine learning or data-driven method for PDE). 3. Coupling of the phase-field method with the immersed boundary method to study multiple-phase fluid-structure interaction (see Journal of Computational Physics 509, 113028 (2024) for a reference). You should have: 1. PhD in fluid dynamics, physics, or applied mathematics with a strong computational background. 2. Experience in the development of CFD code and in running on big clusters. 3. Understanding the physics of turbulence or flapping wing propulsion. 4. Good command of English (min B2-Level).
