Description: |
Our research group at University of Nebraska-Lincoln has a PhD opening to join
in Fall 2024. The project will involve developing computational models for
acoustic-fluid-structure interactions for microfluidic applications. Students
with an interest in numerical methods, fluid-solid mechanics, microfluidics, and
high-performance computing are specially encouraged to apply. Students with
prior programming experience in computational fluid/solid mechanics will be
preferred. Interested students should email their detailed academic CV
(including list of papers/conferences, prior numerical modeling experience) and

Required:
---------------------
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or any other
relevant field with good academic record, especially in numerical methods,
fluid & solid mechanics and programming-related courses.
• Willingness to engage closely with our collaborators and explore new
research directions.
Preferred:
---------------------
• Prior experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or
Computational Solid Mechanics (CSM) such as Finite Element Method, etc. is
highly desirable, but not essential.
• Interest in programming (Fortran, Python, or C/C++). Candidates with
prior experience in working with large codes are specially encouraged to apply.
