About the Position:

 The College of Space and Aeronautics at Gyeongsang National University (Jinju, 
South Korea) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in 
aerospace, mechanical engineering, or applied mathematics. The successful 
candidate will engage in advanced research in computational gas dynamics, multi-
phase flows, and rarefied gas dynamics with applications to space systems 
engineering.

📅 Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension depending on funding 
availability.
 💼 Start Date: As early as September 2025.

The position is funded by multi-year projects within the Aerospace Computational 
Modeling Laboratory and offers an excellent opportunity to work in a 
collaborative environment with access to state-of-the-art computational 
resources.


🧪 Research Focus Includes:

 • Simulation of gaseous-particle flows in space environments
 • Development and application of Discontinuous Galerkin methods
 • Implementation of new models in open-source CFD software


📚 Qualifications:

 • Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, 
or a closely related field
 • Strong background in fluid mechanics and numerical methods
 • Experience with open-source CFD software and scientific programming (C++, 
FORTRAN, etc.)
 • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
 • Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
 • Experience with OpenFOAM or Nektar++ is highly desirable

📌 Responsibilities:

 • Conduct independent research under Dr. Ejtehadi’s supervision
 • Develop and implement numerical algorithms for fluid dynamics simulations
 • Collaborate with research team members on ongoing projects
 • Publish research outcomes in peer-reviewed journals and present at 
conferences
