Fully Funded Ph.D. Position available – TUBITAK project on
“Interface-Resolved Direct Numerical Simulation of Droplet
Evaporation”
Description: Our research group at Koç University is recruiting
a Ph.D. student for Fall 2025. The project focuses on developing
a high-fidelity fully 3D front-tracking method for interface-resolved
direct numerical simulations of evaporating multiphase flow system
including surfactant contamination and chemical reactions (combustion)
and performing large scale interface-resolved DNS to examine
(i) evaporation of a single droplet and droplet clouds in
turbulent environment, (ii) effects of surfactant contamination
and (iii) combustion of fuel droplets in engine-like conditions.
Requirements: Applicants should have a background in mechanical engineering,
aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, energy and power engineering,
applied mathematics, applied physics, or other related fields.
We seek applicants with a strong foundation in fluid mechanics,
turbulent flows, multiphase flows, programming skills
(Fortran, C/C++), familiarity with parallelization and
high-performance computing and a dedicated, hardworking,
and eager-to-learn attitude.
Stipend: 35000 TL/month
Fringe Benefits: Dormitory, Health Insurance, Meal Card, Travel support
