The Department of Civil Engineering at Florida International University (ranked 
among the top 50 public universities in the U.S.) is offering three fully funded 
Ph.D. positions starting in Summer 2025, Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. These 
positions focus on computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling in areas such as 
hydraulic structures and high-speed air–water flows, using OpenFOAM. Other 
applications include CFD of heat and wind dynamics in cities. Experience with 
machine learning or AI is considered a plus.

We are looking for highly motivated students with strong programming skills 
(e.g., Python, C++, etc.) and experience with open-source modeling tools. 
Preference will be given to students already in the U.S. or those who can 
readily 
obtain a student visa.
